The O&G Summit 2007

Cyviz, TANDBERG and Infoteknikk hosted the O&G Summit 2007 attracting representatives from 23 local oil & gas companies with exciting speakers from DnB NOR Markets, Odfjell Drilling, Capgemini and Aker Exploration.

This Summit was an invitation only event for leaders in the small and medium Oil and Gas space held on November 1st at the recently opened Cyviz Technology Center in Stavanger, Norway. The focus was on financial evaluations of the O&G industry and available technology within the I.O. environment.

Torbjørn Kjus from DnB NOR markets provided insights into factors that influence the oil markets, and also presented a market forecast. Manager of Odfjell Drilling Interactive, Torbjørn Forthun described how their work processes and communications had been simplified and improved through applying videoconferencing and visualization tools. Ian Moore from Capgemini shared with us their experience from helping big oil companies such as Shell to improve their workflows, and Aker Exploration’s Steinar Sørensen demonstrated how the use of Cyviz visualization tools, combined with software, had improved their ability to interpret advanced seismic data.

Cyviz and TANDBERG presented on their technologies in two breakout sessions where the participants were introduced to state of the art visualization technologies and discussed various application areas.

The evening was spent enjoying high stakes gambling Monte Carlo-style at Garcia restaurant at Sola Golf club.  The poker table quickly turned into a hot spot , and the black jack attracted players to bet in tune to the music of Frank Sinatra and other classic performers.

This was the first Annual O&G Summit at the CTC, and we plan to repeat the success next year.
