American University of Sharjah Expands Students' Opportunities
The American University of Sharjah (AUS) celebrated the opening of their new School of Business and Management (SBM) which incorporates the most advanced technological facilities of academic infrastructure in the UAE.
Two of the large auditoriums, one seating 80, the other seating 120, will feature state-of-the-art Cyviz display solutions featuring exclusive F35 WQXGA projectors tightly integrated by the Cyviz Display Controller (CDC) and videoconferencing codecs from Cisco.
The solution offers AUS a complete collaboration platform that will allow them to run videoconference sessions with geographically dispersed guest speakers, thus giving AUS students access to previously unavailable experts' knowledge and insight. The high resolution display, delivering 2560 x 1600 from a single channel allows guest lecturers to share data and presentations whilst at the same time still having enough display real estate for simultaneous HD video calls.
Upon the building inauguration, His Highness Dr. Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah and President of AUS, commented that "the building offers the best practices of sustainability, design and functionality" currently available.
Cyviz and their partner, GBM, were awarded the project after a long evaluation by the technology planners at AUS. A key factor in their success was the ease of use and functionality of the CDC, meaning lecturers and student alike are able to realize the full value of the Cisco videoconferencing platform combined with Cyviz high resolution displays that deliver more pixels with fewer channels, thus reducing the total cost of ownership.
