Cyviz control rooms enable Houston city officials to focus on solving extreme winter storm challenges

Standing in front of a Cyviz Video Wall system, in the City Emergency Operations Center (EOC), Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner announced an Emergency Disaster Declaration on February 14, 2021, to combat extreme winter weather. The declaration is effective immediately to protect and preserve public safety. Citizens are dealing with power and water outages affecting over 1 million households. Mayor asked citizens of Houston to avoid unnecessary travel unless it is an emergency. City officials are closely monitoring the situation in the operations center and providing additional shelters for citizens, road clean-up crews, and working with the utility providers to restore power.

As the events unfold, local officials continue to supervise emergency operations with the help of the latest collaboration and coordination technology. Cyviz’ control rooms let city officials focus on solving critical challenges, enable powerful decision-making, and improve 360° 24/7 situational awareness for rapid decision-making.

“Cyviz control room solutions are entrusted by Federal, State and Local Government officials for critical missions like disaster response, situational awareness,  as well as recovery operations.  We are proud of our track record supporting these critical missions with highly reliable and standardized audiovisual solutions for 24×7 operation center environments” – Jason Rowley, Cyviz I Vice President Federal.
